About Us

My name is Ava L. Smalls, and I am the owner and operator of Lotus Beauty Locks, LLC, based in my hometown of Charleston, SC. I started this business in 2018, driven by my passion for locks and the art of micro-locking. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m fortunate to have built a career that doesn’t feel like work. Every day, I get to help my clients embrace their natural beauty, and I consider them my "lotus beauties." The connection I have with my clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my job, and I’m grateful for each person I get to work with.

In addition to offering my locking services, I started teaching Microlocks courses to help others discover the craft and change their lives the way I did. My goal is to share my passion and knowledge with others so they can experience the joy of locking hair and the confidence it brings. It's truly a privilege to introduce more people to this wonderful craft, and I’m excited to help others build their skills while expanding the community of micro-lock enthusiasts.
